Gaza Smuggling Tunnels Open
Were we prophetic? No, no one had to be a prophet to know what the week after the Gaza War ended would bring! The tunnels that remain (not an insignificant number) are open for business, all the humanitarian food and fuel is stacked in guarded warehouses for Hamas terrorists themselves and as a means of controlling the population, and the parades and threats are once again filling the streets and the airwaves.
Tunnels, Rockets, Shooting, anti-Israel Parades, Complaints, Corruption, and billions of Dollars/Euros flowing into Hamas pockets -- in less than one week Gaza is back to normal.
So, we ask again: Why did we quit? Answers: 1) Olmert, 2) Livni, 3) Barak, 4) Obama. Hmmm, no military names there. We only killed a relatively small number of the terrorist "operatives" because they were holed up like moles in tunnels we didn't destroy in Gaza City and elsewhere. If the terrorists were powerful enough, they were ferried accross the Egyptian border in Red Cross ambulances so they could pretend to be leaders of a country. We lost 10 wonderful young men to Hamas 700 or so. It's not a bad ratio, but it's 10 too many if they fought for nothing. (Americans: remember Vietnam?)
But we didn't "have time" to destroy 100% of the tunnels. We didn't "have time" to flush them out of their underground bunkers. We didn't "have time" to find Gilad Shalit, our kidnapped soldier. We had a well-prepared army and good plans in place. All was going according to excellent military strategic plans. And why didn't we have time? 1) Olmert, 2) Livni, 3) Barak, 4) Obama.
It's wasn't the homes and schools destroyed in the south of Israel; it's wasn't the kids and families dodging missiles everywhere. Otherwise, why did the government decide only after 8 years to clear out the mess? You already know the answers: 1) Olmert, 2) Livni, 3) Barak, 4) Obama.
Why Obama? It's not that Obama was cracking the whip; it's that no one knows which whip he'll crack when he cracks one, whereas President Bush was willing to give Israel time to fight the fight that most of the world agreed needed fought.
Why Olmert, Livni and Barak? E L E C T I O N S Who can be toughest for the conservatives? Who can be more diplomatic for the liberals? Who can meet the most western leaders in front of the cameras? Who can be the most humanitarian and generous to the vanquished? Who? Who? and Who? Oh, yeah and we forgot Netanyahu, WHO of course was heard giving Israel a hand on all the foreign interview shows and never heard at home. WHO knows what part he played in the countdown, but we know he is a friend of Obama. He said so.
So, back to Gaza: They are back in Gaza and
we are back to cat and mouse.
I hate to be a spoiler, but we gotta warn our leaders:
in ToonTown the mouse wins.
Meanwhile, we've had roadside shootings and a few other attempts to attack Israelis to keep us busy until Hamas has all the rocket launchers hauled out of the remaining schools and homes. It may take them a couple of days more to get all their stuff moved out of Hospital.
Humanitarian Aid Transferred to Gaza as Arms Smuggling Resumes
Avraham Zuroff wrote for IsraelNN's news site:
(IsraelNN.com) The border crossings from Israel into Gaza were opened Wednesday in order to allow humanitarian aid to be transferred into the area. Meanwhile, on the Egyptian-Gaza border, a different sort of aid – to allow Hamas terrorists to replenish their armaments – has also begun. Merely a few days since Operation Cast Lead has finished, smuggling into Gaza through tunnels has been renewed -- at least according to TV footage aired by AP and Channel 2.

IAF Strike Kassam Launchers in Gaza
By Yaakov katz and Jpost.com staff
IAF planes struck an Kassam rocket launcher in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening, hours after two incidents of gunfire and mortar shell fire were reported against IDF troops in the area.

Will we ever learn? If we don't, the future ain't lookin' good and it's here.
