Syrian Tanks Threaten Israel

by RKNews last modified 2007-02-13 14:49

Reports coming from various news souces warn that Syria moved a large number of tanks to the Israeli border along with a large number of anti-tank missiles which they aimed at Israel. After 30 years of quiet, it is unsettling and uncertain what Syrians have in mind. Meantime, Iran and Hizbollah have indicated that Hizbollah retracts support for the UN Security Council resolution and will not agree to be disarmed or replaced by any other force in South Lebanon.

Meanwhile Northern Israel has been hit by more than 250 rockets and missiles today, suffering one elderly man killed and several injured. Israel has repeatedly attacked south Beirut where the Hizbollah bunkers are believed to be still in use and also has attacked targets along the Lebanese-Syrian border.

In South Lebanon, one bunker was found loaded with ammunition, missiles and communications equipment. All was destroyed.

Two Iranian drones were shot down, one 2 miles over the border of Israel and one over Tyre in Lebanon. Both were loaded with explosives and, if known, their destination has not been released.

Israeli soldiers have been told to take up positions to encircle Hizbollah in a way which will not allow the Hisbollah terrorist army to flee to the north from South Lebanon. Depending on the political/diplomatic status tomorrow, the fighting could be heavier than before. Iran is encouraging all Arab countries to join together and attack a "weakened Israel."

Israel is still recovering from the blow of 25 soldiers dead over the Sabbath and 5 additional killed soldiers on Sunday.
