Terrorists Intensify Efforts
Terrorists out of Gaza, Judea and Samaria continue non-stop in their efforts to kidnap Israelis and bomb public sites. Most of their attempts have been preempted or failed of themselves. The Eilat hotel was the tragic exception.
A few recent examples of this are from October 2006 when an Israeli Arab supermarket clerk was arrested and confessed to being part of a terrorist plot to bomb a restaurant in Raanana, near Tel Aviv. Security forces found the bomb buried near Ramallah. Al-Aqsa Brigades terrorists based near Netanya, north of Tel Aviv had recruited the young woman, Varud Kasem and her cousin Mahmed Bubli who lived in Shechem to deliver the bomb into Israel. Some days earlier an Israeli couple was attacked while waiting at a stop light north of Jerusalem. Surrounded by Arab vehicles, they were helpless to escape when set upon by a group of young Arab men who began physically attacking the driver. Due to the intervention of an Arab motorist, the terrorists fled with the belongings of the couple. Since there continues to be an active effort to kidnap more Israelis, perhaps this was their ultimate aim. Two young girls were spared when one succeeded to fight off the predators and in recent days another attempted kidnapping was thwarted. Jerusalem is constantly on high alert due to credible threats. Our intelligence and military services are to be commended but most of the gratitude is due to God as so very many attacks have been prevented or made ineffective by "Mazal Tov"....and we know Who that is. There is absolutely no other logical explanation for the low number of casualties when related to the constant daily bombardment of populated areas by Gaza terrorists. May He continue to have mercy on us. |
